been asked to sanction inclusion of section dealing with carriage of

Kails, and to deletion of a reference to "Saltpetre" to which excep-

tion had been taken by the Chilean Minister at Tokio. Governor agrees as to advisability of securing early signature of agreement and will be glad of ir. Jordan's assistance to that end.

February 27th, 1918: Sir J.Jorden telegraphs to Foreign Office requesting authority to sign Convention with addition of Postal section, but suggests that question of "Saltpetre" be deferred for the time

being.

authority to sigh agreement with amendment suggested.

despatch of December 12th, 1917; states that His Lajesty's Goverment

accepts the proposed amendment, and requests that arrangements be made for signing agreement.
